Immigration Evaluations
Compassionate. Culturally Responsive. Clinically Rigorous.
When your immigration case requires a psychological evaluation, choosing the right evaluator can make a meaningful difference. A well-written psychological evaluation helps your attorney clearly document the emotional and psychological impact of trauma, persecution, abuse, family separation, or hardship while providing objective clinical evidence to support your case.
At Bienestar Counseling & Wellness Collective, we provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive immigration psychological evaluations for individuals throughout California. Our evaluations are completed with clinical integrity, cultural humility, and a deep understanding of the experiences many immigrants and mixed-status families face.
We know this process can feel overwhelming. Our goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported while producing a comprehensive report that meets professional forensic standards and assists your legal team.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can complete an immigration psychological evaluation?
Immigration psychological evaluations are commonly completed by licensed mental health professionals, including Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCCs), psychologists, and psychiatrists, depending on the type of immigration case and legal requirements.
Is this therapy?
No. Immigration evaluations are forensic clinical assessments, not therapy. The purpose is to provide an objective psychological evaluation for your immigration case.
How long does the process take?
Most evaluations are completed within two to three weeks after the interview. Expedited services may be available when legal deadlines require a faster turnaround.
What should I bring?
Please bring any immigration paperwork, attorney information, relevant legal or medical records, and any documents that help explain your history. We will provide detailed instructions before your appointment.
Will you work with my attorney?
Yes. With your written permission, we can communicate directly with your attorney to ensure the evaluation addresses the legal questions relevant to your case.
